you can not do it without the right tools i`ve done them before you would need a dial indicator to check backlash some form of plastigauge or yellow gease to check gear engagement and a good torque wrench,an impact gun, and about 6 or more hours i`ve done it before my first time took me 9 hours to get it right, and that was with the help of a proffessional mechanic and use of a shop. pay to have it done if it`s done wrong it will cost you more than 250.00 for a new axle and gears and carrier.
