![]() You probably have it all figured out by now, but that retainer with the rotator takes up a ton of room. Running that with an E cam with 1.7's, I'm surprised you didnt have coil bind issues.
They are correct that the best way to do it would be replace the spring, instead of shimming the spring up that much. I personally wouldnt stack up 3 or 4 .060's to get the right height, but I'm sure there are people who have done it. And as far as swapping retainers and trying to have the right springs to match at the same time, thats kinda hard too because the same retainer from a different manufacturer will give you a different height. Those 942's are the best spring for stock retainers and they should be worth a little something in the classifieds. The installed height gauges are a pita. A snap gauge and a dial caliper are all I need and use. Good luck man Andy
