I had this problem. It is most likely your fan relay which is located under the dash on the drivers side, it cost like $50 to replace
I got mine from the j/y for $3. Of course this is a common problem in 2.3's so you may want to put an aftermarket fan on. And to test the motor just hook the two wires on the batter.
