There's nothing wrong with referring to nitrous as noss. There's nothing wrong with wearing pants that are 4 times too big, and having them settle around the knees, either. I just happen to think both are pretty silly. But what do I know, and who cares what I think? I also used to own a Datsun B-210 and 3 Pinto's, so I can't be all that bright. My first experience with nitrous was inhaling it in 1979. To this day I still swear the ground came up and hit me. By 1980 I had discovered racing, and the practical application of nitrous oxide. A gentleman by the name of Steve Presta had a Chevy Vega with a 6-71 427, and it happened to be on the juice as well. The only time in my adult life that I actually pissed in my pants was in that car. Steve explained nitrous to me. He took the mystery out of it. I was having trouble understanding how a non-flammable gas could create so much power. I used to think of it like it was nitroglycerine, that a tank could blow up like a bomb if dropped. Then Steve explained it real simple: Nitrous Oxide is the best way to add oxygen to the combustion chamber in a controlled manner. Straight Oxygen would grenade as soon as it met a spark, but when adding Nitrogen to the Oxygen, the burn rate was slowed down to the point where it was controllable. You youngsters probably never even heard water injection, but that used to be a poor mans nitrous. Same idea, but no where near the same results. It was at this point that I realized the real fuel that powered engines was Oxygen. The gasoline was just there to control the burn.

Sorry about that.

Call it whatever you want to.

Peace.

Take care
~Chris
