![]() Hey Al, my buddy @ Sgarzi's Machine Works built the motor. He did the machine work and balanced it, then put the long block together for me. He didn't want me to get the Torker II intake or the carb I am running now, because he knew I would be unhappy with them. He and most other builders in my area said the Torker II flows too much volume, with not enough velocity and makes a very weak power band. I didn't listen and got them anyways because I got a great deal on them ($200 carb and intake).
From what I understand the RPM "Air Gap" and the Performer RPM are the same intakes internally, except the Air Gap intake has the runners seperated from the lifter valley to keep the heat soak down. Creating a "cooler denser intake charge." They flow the same because they are the same. Thats what I was told anyways. 450 HP is my current goal. When Sgarzi's Machine Works put together my combo 2 years ago my goal was only 300 HP @ the flywheel. He hit that number right on the nose. My RWHP is 265 right now and with 18% correction (for drivetrain losses) I make 310 @ the flywheel. So I WAS happy, but now I am greedy and want more! So bring on 450!!! Steve |
