Make sure the engine has good grounds and all the wires have good connections. My car wouldnt start and nearly burnt up my ground strap because i didnt have a good enough ground. So now i have like 3. And mines a carbed 82 with the batt in the back. And sometimes if you go to a higher amperage batt you might have to use bigger cables to handle the power.
