you said that you were on your way home from work, so im taking it you drive the car often, the only downfalls that i have heard about a solid roller cam are that you will have to adjust the rocker arms quite a bit more than the hydraulic, also theres a better chance of something breaking with a solid cam. either way i would definitely go with the roller cam. before i did anything i would check why it sheared off the pin though.
