There is a lot of stress on the cable and your car is an 88. If its never been changed it was most likely fatigue. Get a good after market version and might as well get an adjustable while you are at it.
When I did my clutch I went to the king cobra cover which has a softer pedal. I feel its easier on the components. MustangGT |
