just a thought, was your cam degreed properly, and i dont mean installed "straight up". your cam could be to far advanced or retarded while being installed "straight up" the only way to know for sure is to degree your cam. It's amazing the difference just 4 degrees retarded or advanced (cam timing) will do for you off the line. Im not sure which will give you better bottom end torque so check with the cam manafacture. It might just be that simple.
