Well, when i was young and dumb and full of cum, and was having problems keeping a car in one piece or on the road at all, I opted for a bicycle. Extremely cheap and reliable. But i lived on an Air Force Base, so I could ride my bike to work in 15 minutes. You might not have that option. But if you can get away without a car at all, even for just one year, go for it.
