This is from Isaac Martin's book "Small block Windsor performance"
"the 351w was ofered with a four barred carb rated at 470 cfm. It had 10.5:1 compression and used flat top pistons. Valve sizes were 1.84 int and 1.54 exh. HP rating was 290 @4900 and torpue peak was 385@3200. The 2V version of the 351 was rated a 250 horses @4600 and 355lb-ft@ 2600 W/9.5:1 with dished pistons. The biggest myth to emerge was that the 4v was equipped with "four barrel" heads. It was not. the heads were the same as the 2v application. the increased power was a result of revised pistons which bumped up compression for extra power." I hope that helps a little. I really can't help you on the price because I have never bought a motor before but I dosen't sound bad. ------------------ 86 GT T-tops, AOD, B&M shift kit and hammer shifter, ROH wheels, K&N, Timing,MAC headers, 2.5 off road H, 2.5 American Thunder, 87 spindles, rear disc,SS lines, BBK 1.5, poly bushings, Crutchfield front kick panel speakers. |
