The actual intake of your motor is the part that sits right on top of your engine and feeds air into it. Our intakes are plastic composite, and arent' the greatest, but arent exactly terrible either. The intakes on the 96-97 GT's sucked, and were prone to exploding, but that's covered under an open recall

Since you're supercharged, you'd see a nice gain if you upgraded to a Bullit intake...say 15-20hp or more. The whole set up is gonna run you upwards of a grand though, so you dont get great bang for your buck. Youd be better off getting an intercooler and running some more boost. Good luck to you.
