Default heater core installed in g/f Taurus

I finally broke down and decided to have the heater core replaced in my g/f Taurus. Since I really didn't want to tear into a job like that, I took it to a Ford dealership and I think I got an excellent price on it too.

I paid $304 and I bought the core myself for them to install.
It was 5.5 hrs of labor @ $50/hr.
I told them not to bother recharging the A/C. Did that save me a lot of cash telling them that?

Just thought I would post this in case anyone wants a ballpark figure on a dealership doing it for them.
Since I don't drive my mustang in the winter, I'm going to wait until spring and do that myself unless I feel lazy and have an extra $300 laying around..
