At what rpm are you launching? Are you spinning the tires?
At what rpm do you shift? Even a stock 5.0 should run 15.0 or better, I think. My ragged out 89 GT ran 15.0 at 90 mph with 130,000 miles on it and no mods. That was my first time at the strip. If you plan to keep this thing and keep visiting the strip, get gears. 3.55 or 3.73
