![]() Dude, I do massive highway driving all the time and I run 3.73's. I have a carb and I get ~20 mpg hwy slightly underjetted but with a 95 power valve. If I had to do it all over again, then I would hit 4.11's. I pull...if I remember correctly off the top of my head: 65mph at 2000 in 5th with my 3.73's .
My first stang must have had 4.11's or 4.30's in it cause it pulled like 3500k rpms at 85 (I always assumed that that was what mustangs felt like and I was in for a surprise when I got a 3.08 equipped car, what a slothly feeling ride). What a difference. With FI, I got 24 mpg hwy. I could chirp the tires easily in 2nd.
