what year car do you have?
if it is an 88-93, you might put it 1/2 way down and pull out the top (vinyl) where it folds down. this will make the top lay down for the most part. if it has trouble coming up, then it sounds like your top motor might need more fluid or it might need replacing... i havent had a problem with the cobra. it works perfectly.
