If the worst has happened I'd go with the 99 up engine and compurter. Not a huge difference in price between the two but a good bit of HP. the head upgrade alone will cost you an extra 1,200 bucks and I don't believe there is that much difference between a 98 - 99 engine. Try MPS online, they have the used engines.
