Correct. No vacuum, just a Throttle Valve (TV) cable.
*IMPORTANT* This needs to be adjusted properly or severe tranny damage WILL result. Trust me, I know. Find that little nylon grommet on the throttle body that the TV cable snaps into. The end of the cable should be tight in there with NO play. If it's shot, go to your nearest Ford dealer and get a new one. Before sinking money into your AOD, check out Baumann Engineering. There you'll learn more about the AOD than you ever thought possible. I've done most of the mods they've suggested there, and mine has survived 4 months of nightly street racing. Well, I also did some customizations, but I can attribute most of its durability to proper TV pressure and a tranny oil cooler. Hope this helps. ![]() ------------------ Capri306, Moderator, The Mustang Works Online 1979 Mercury Capri, 5.0L -- C4 -- 2.73 1987 Mustang LX Notch |
