My 373's aren't cutting it, I couldn't imagine 308's. My car's power peak is at 6100 rpms so I'm practically crossing the line in 3rd (Actually did cross in 3rd a couple of times this weekend).
Roadwarrior, don't fear the gear, if you want to get the most out of your car, get 4.10s. If I were to do it over again, I'd go with 4.30's. I'm probably just going to bottle my car which will make the 373's useful again.
