I actually agree. It took me quite a while to get the pressure set up so that it will shift correctly. I was simply unable to get the trans to drop back to 3rd from OD until I tightened the cable. It still takes 60-65 psi before it will jump back to 3rd and it will not happen over 55 mph no matter what I do. I'm told this is standard behaviour for an AOD. 2nd seems to hold a bit longer than I would like and it hops between 2nd and 3rd too much on the street.
Should I have tv pressure at highway cruise? I was simulating having 5.18 gears by driving around on the highway in 3rd with 3.73's to see what kinda of rpms I would pull (3500 rpm at 75. Still 18 mpg though the engine temp rose a bit too much for my liking). It seems that I need to put the pedal in enough to generate about 25-30 psi just to hold it in cruise at 75 mph. I dont know if this is bad for the transmission or if it will just creates heat.
