Post Transgo and a chip?

Question is, will a chip do anything different to a 95 GT with timing advanced and a Transgo installed? The shift points are covered by the Transgo, right, and the Timing is done at the dist., so what will the chip do? Is there something about fuel curve that should be changed? I have virtually no mods, only cold air+73mm MAF, gears, and pulleys. More to come...
