On a street car with GT-40P heads, you might pick up as much as 10hp by going with a custom grind cam, over a good choice in the "off the shelf" cam world. Personally, I'd rather have a more forgiving "off the shelf" cam that can deal with a few changes in the combination, cost me a lot less money, and be easier to sell if I should decide to upgrade.

You'll probably want to upgrade the valvesprings on the heads to reduce valve float, and allow you to use cams with .500+ lift at the valve. The heads also respond very well to light porting.

Something like a TFS-51402000 (TFS #1) should be fine for those heads. .499/.510 221*/225* LSA 112*

Don't go for a cam with a lot of lift unless the heads are worked quite a bit. The GT-40P's lose flow volume above .500 lift.
