I am going to assume the engine is in good operating condition.

If it were my car and I had 3,000...after making many mistakes before realizing where the money should have been spent on my own car....

Aluminum heads and a cam
Gears
Shift Kit
If money permits, a stall T.C. and maybe ignition upgrades
