Default ring size on stock pistons

What is the ring size on a stock 92 302 piston? I bought the speed pro file fit and they are ok on the 1st and 2nd ring but the oil ring is too loose. the only sizes shown in the summit book are 1/8th or 3/16's for the oil ring.(3/16) would be smaller right? And is it normal to have to file fit 45 thousandths off the rings? One more thing, is it a must to use a ring expander to get the rings on? I read a article in one of our favorite mustang mags were they said it is a must? Can't I just thread them around the piston?
