HELP with carb kickdown linkage
I have an 83 V6, auto trans. Yesterday I removed a 4bbl carb that the previous owner installed. When i put the stock 2bbl Motorcraft carb on, it didnt come with the linkage pivot for the kickdown bar, so I used the one from the Holley. I need to know if the joint where the kickdown lever bolts to the linkage is supposed to be very tight, or have some movement?
The trans upshifted the whole drive home last nite, it was really bad. It was fine before the carb swap. Is there linkage available for this car at parts stores? Do I just have it installed wrong (too tight)? |
