Did you check your rocker stand shims? Make sure that none of them fell out or anything stupid like that. I actually had a hyd. cam so far out of adjustment that the car actually QUIT running after it got warm. Run through the valve lash again, but make sure the one you're adjusting is on the base circle of the cam. "EOCIICCE" Exhaust Opens, Check Intake. Intake Closes, Check Exhaust. Ya want the exhaust valve just starting to open about .25" when you set the intake. The turn the engine over, and just as soon as the intake valve starts to close, check the exhaust.

Prolly what happened is your lifters weren't all the way pumped up when you set it the first time. Been there, done that too.
