Default Re: Need help beefing up a staight six

The 300 cu in [4.9L] 6 cylinder is a horse of a differnet color. It is a large truck engine and most likely won't fit in the engine bay, easily. It isn't from the same family of 144/170/200/250 6 cylinders. It is similar to 223/240/300 6 cylinders.

The smaller [mustang, falcon, etc] 6 cylinders have the intake manifold cast in with the cylinder head. Very restrictive. The larger 6 cylinders have a seperate bolt on intake manifold.
