After reading Jeffs reply to this thread,I realized I may have made a mistake in my reply.If I did there would also be a problem with the belt routing that I have on my engine now.I'm running ;water pump,ps.,alt,and the tensioner on top,Its a 1990 engine with the water pump on it for that year.With the setup I have now it is possible to delete the smog pump by simply using a shorter belt.I would like to know why the pump can not be removed without the kit.By doing this I realize that the gap between the tensioner and the belt off the water pump is closer but it will work by finding a belt suitable,(wich took me a few tries.)Everything elese can be removed,and I capped the ports in the back of the heads.If there is something wrong with what I have done here I would appreciate a reply.
