Rack & pinion replacement
I really need some suggestions - I have a 92 GT convertible - I am the original owner - last week I replaced the rack with an A1 Cardone rebuild. The one that came off was a Ford reman. The shop assured me my old rack was 2 1/2 turns lock to lock, as was the Cardone. The steering on my car has ALWAYS been tight, I never had to turn the wheel much for the car to steer and never really able to turn the wheel easily. For the past week I feel like I am driving someone else's car. As if I have gone from drving my Mustang to my grandmother's Cadillac. I have tried to research this as much as I can. Everyone thinks I am crazy that there could be such a drastic difference. I was told by Cardone that it is just the mileage on my car. Another guy at the tire shop suggested I was imaginging this? I can't help but wonder if they installed the wrong rack??? Has anyone had any similar experience with the rack replacement?? I could really use the help!!
