The best thing to do is check the date code on this. Anything higher than 17H is considered a "65". Mine's a 641/2 with the build date of 23F. The letters stand for the month C is Mar 64, D is Apr 64, E is May 64, down through M as Dec 64, then A is Jan 65, B Feb 65, then Q for Mar 65 down through Z for Dec 65 (skip I and O).
Looking at the VIN, you probably have a very late 65 that someone tossed a generator in. They made 680,989 for the 65 model year (including 641/2). Since Mustang number 1 had consecutive unit number (the last six digits) 100001, that would mean the very last 65 would be 780989. My 641/2 built in June of 64 has unit number 175682. ------------------ 641/2 Convertible D Code 289 PB, PS, PT, AC |
