On the 428. I have read that you can take the truck 390 (shown as a 391), and have it bored to 428 specs. This will only work with the truck blocks because they were cast thicker than lighter duty units. The engine can then be fitted with a 428 crank. As the above post said you can also swap heads, intake, etc. Alternatively, you could put a 428 crank in a 390, I think you get a 406.
