When I lived in Tacoma, WA I got a speeding ticket. My friend told me about a lawyer that charged 200 dollars. He charged you if he got the ticket thrown out and didn't charge you if he couldn't. Needless to say, on my court day, before the jugde even came in he talked to him in his office and had it thrown out. He did know the judge, I paid the 200 bucks, and that was it.

I don't know if there is more lawyers like that around the country for traffic violations, but it is something to look into.
