And don't forget what happened to the former Soviet Union. They went into Afganistan in 1979 thinking that these nomadic people would be a push over for a superpower. Well, ask them 10 years later what happened - they left Afganistan after much bloodshed and lost site of why they were they and what their objectives were.

I trust that our military will make appropriate decisions on how/when/where to strike. This has got to be one of the most difficult "battle plans" to assemble. This isn't like storming a beach or taking over a critical locale - and the answer is not just bin Laden. It is so much more than that. The intricacies of this enemy we call terrosim are difficult to uncover and put a stop to. It's not like you're going to see a little white flag pop out of the top of a fox hole.

As President Bush put it, why do we want to fire 2 million dollar missles at a $10 tent that has no one in it?
