i went through this crap with ford about two years ago. it is a fact that ford is retarded with their dipstick measurements so don't trust them.
it is also a fact that the 4.6 is supposed to take 6 quarts, no more no less. i was on the phone with an SVT tech about this and he assured me this is the case.

my dipstick reads 3/4 full with 6 quarts??
