I have an 87 with about 50k on it, I bought the car nearly new so I put all the miles on myself, so I know it is accurate. But, in your case you will have to take a close look at the car. Check things like brake and clutch pedal for wear. If the car has a lot of miles it will show up here. Look closely at the drivers seat, if it is in good shape chances are the miles are accurate. Also look at the door seal at the floor, this will show signs of wear on high mileage Mustangs because many people drag their foot across it getting into the car.

FYI I had a 90 notch that I sold a couple of years ago for $4900, the car had about 110k miles on it.
