I have a '92 F-150 with a 302. I have towed several cars at times without any problem. The 302 will have plenty of power to tow and haul. Also, don't be afraid of getting the 4.9L streight 6. It actually has more torque than the 302! And it is a good towing engine also. Of course, if you are planning of towing something large like a motor home, I would get a bigger engine or a diesel.
