i have a fairmont also. i ended up using a plastic cowl that gets rivited to the stock hood. then i cut a circle the size of the air cleaner in the hood. if you use bondo over the rivits and edges it doesnt look too bad. otherwise i did find a place that had hoods but they were very expensive. they also had glass trunk lids but for 300$ do a search under ford fairmont on your search engine.
