![]() That shop is chraging you $1000+ just to install gears? I don't think so. I went to the Chevy dealer and they only charged me $280 (labor) to install new gears AND a new differential. I would keep looking around, try your local Ford dealer. Aside from the gears, you may save some money if you buy a kit with new bearings, shims, sleeves, gaskets...all that good stuff. I'd imagine the dealer would charge a bunch for those additional parts. And its probably not a bad idea to replace those internals. I did. Good luck.
