Sounds like you want to go fast and be smog legal. I've learned from experience, either have a race car or a street car. I had a radical mustang on the street. It's fun at first but it gets old fast. Anyways, get the May 2001 issue of 5.0 Mustang. There's a complete article on 351 swaps into 5.0's
And remember, you're reengineering a car. Not everything is going to be a smooth bolt on. There's probably going to be a little cutting and welding going on. Ever thought of a 347 stroker? They can make more power than you think and it bolts right in. If you going to make more than 500hp and need the strength get a boss block(good luck) or Ford's pricey A4 block. Hope this helps.
