If you compare the lower explorer intake to your stock one, you'll see that the #5 runner has a sensor in it and the Explorer doesnt.
This is what you need to drill and tap a hole for, I'm not sure of what size tap it is but you can figure that out after you pull the sensor out of your stock one.

I believe the sensor is the air charge temp sensor or ACT. I could be wrong though...
