![]() No. The 4 cyl T-5 is not a world class transmission, and it's internals are weaker than any of the 5.0 T-5's. I think the maximum torque rating of the 4cyl T-5 is 240lb/ft. The input shafts are different as stated. You would do well to avoid the weak 4banger tranny.
The SROD transmission spoke of is probably as strong as any T-5 produced. It's basically a Ford Toploader. The F bodies also used the T-5, a non world class version for years after the Mustang got the better WC T-5 in 1985. They also used different input shafts, and I believe they had other changes as well. |
