At low rpm, the oil pressure is low. So you could have a roller hydraulic lifter not pumping up, and giving valve lash chatter. Or it could be a _bad_ lifter not pumping up. Or it could be the lash was not adjusted right in the first place. Something in that area is my educated guess. Does it go away (and STAY away) at 2000 rpm steady state?
