Try your local auto parts store. My scan tool is an OTC Mindreader, and is pretty trick, but it cost me around $450 new, and another $350 (give or take) when I upgraded it to work with OBDII vehicles as well. You can buy cheaper ones at your auto parts store that will do what you want. Expect to pay around $200.
