I didn't purposely drive in deep water, what I was driving in wasn't any worse than normal rain water, and wasn't but an inch deep. What happened was some idiot tried to drive a little to fast into my lane and thought he could speed up faster than he could.... So instead of hitting him, i swerved into a parking lot, ... only problem was that the entrance to the lot went down about 4 inches before it went up, and after the amount of water, it was about 5-6 inches deep, so I had no choice... of course he keeps on driving and it looks like i just pulled in to a lot really quickly. My engine died instantly upon impact of the water, at first I thought I had just shorted the terminals on the battery and caused the computer and electronics to turn off... I didn't find out until later that I had blown a piston, bent a con rod, fractured the crank, and warped the lower section on the block... Funny thing was, i didn't do a single bit of damage to the heads. The dealership wanted to put my old heads on a new short block, that's why it cost us 800.00 and wasn't covered totaly. Theres no way I was going to let them put 60k+ Alum heads on to a brand new short block. I think the ins agent tried to pull one over on them and get out cheap. Anyways, all things considered, I came out good in the end. Where else could you get a new engine installed and drive off the dealer lot for 800.00.
