Mine lasted for close to 170,000 miles, about 50,000 of those with 350 or so flywheel hp. It never died even with tons of abuse I dished out on it. When your dies get a lentech rebild kit and then don't worry about it. And to answer your question the aod can handle about 450 hp stock. The limiting factor is the hollow 2 piece input shaft.
