Stop Leak? I think it may have plugged your radiator. I've had bad luck with that stuff, perfonally.
About the T-stat, if you can get away with a 180 then it would be better than a 160. I have to use a 160 because by the time a 180 opens, it's too late, the engine gets hot and detonates. You can order a hi-flow thermostat from Summit.
