![]() I don't really understand why it shifts sluggishly in automatic and firm in manual, but manual shifting isn't going to hurt your tranny any more than letting it shift on its own. Do you know if the rebuild included a shift kit of sorts?
Reguardless, when you're racing, flip the OD switch off and shift it manually if that's what works best for you. It's not gonna hurt as long as you're not hitting overdrive under a heavy load. Have fun with it! --nathan
