Question Bad Bearings?

I get this half grinding, half droning noise from the rear of the car kinda as if the bearings were going out. But there's a catch... i hear it when i'm accellerating and coasting, but it goes away when I'm braking. I haven't had a chance yet to look under the car, but do you think it may just be a simple brake drum adjustment? Or do you think it's something that needs immediate attention?
Thanks
John

Jack up the back of the car, put it in neutral, and spin the tires by hand. Odds are you'll locate the problem right away. My guess would be a broken spring in one of the rear drums. They should always be replaced at the same time as the shoes, so if they're original, it's even more likely.

Take care,
-Chris
