The price of a gallon of gas is actually about 50-70 cents a gallon it is the taxes imposed on gas that make it so high.
I dont want to go off on a rant.....but do you know how much goes into producing a gallon of gas....I am surprised its as cheap as it is. I work in the oil field and always have and I see things from the other side. The oil price has been low for the past ten years for the most part...Taxing imported oil and taking measures to stabilize the oil price at say $18.00 a barrel would go a long way in stabalizing the gas price at the pump.
