Are you referring to the Tremec 3550? If so, I'm not sure if they made them back in the 80's or not? However, I do know that the 'older' Tremec's had a weaker case that is prone to failure.

Other than that, a Tremec 3550 should bolt up to a 94 GT without any major issues. You may have to get a new adjustable trans brace, or break the welds on the old one and move to the proper location then re-weld. I just used the 'adjustable' one and had it welded.
